ADDICT - new V2

The ADDICT is arguably the first (patented 2005) and best tool for DALI and now both DMX512 and RDM.

The V2 is now in stock. New features include:

• DALI AC Mains immunity with warning
• Higher DALI line power at 22VDC when powered with 24VDC
• New, brighter led-backlit white on blue lcd screen

Products we design and make

There are only two international standards for lighting control that are open protocol digital control standards. Commercial lighting control and building automation uses the DALI protocol. The entertainment industry uses DMX512. Creative Lighting's team of engineers design a range of lighting control solutions that are both DALI and DMX512 compliant. The range of products made by Creative Lighting include LED dimmers and sequencers, lighting controllers, HID luminaire controllers with lamp status reporting, contactor drivers, line power supplies, serial communication interfaces, scene controllers, group controllers, commissioning tools, fan controllers, translators and automated display controllers. Winter Olympics (Vancouver Canada)(Read more)

The Winter Olympic Rings (the big ones the snowboarder appeared through in the main stadium) used 6 DIDIO 7037 DMX to DALI translators together with 125 Osram Qti-DALI ballasts and Osram FQ High output lamps.

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (Brisbane, Australia)(Read more)

The Queensland Performing Arts Centre was recently awarded a Lighting Excellence Award from the Queensland chapter of the I.E.S. for designers Maunsell/Bassett Consulting. The project is controlled by over 100 SLAMMO v2.5 LED dimmers.

Chinatown Mall (Brisbane, Australia)(Read more)

42 x SLAMMO v2.5 3-channel LED dimmers controlled by our Showpro v4.24 have been successfully installed in Chinatown Brisbane. More than a dozen of the SLAMMOs are supplied in IP66 enclosures which are suitable for loads of up to 200W per SLAMMO. The power supplies are remote-mounted, DIN-rail type Meanwell 240-24VDC.

Advanced PC-controllable and standalone lighting controllers (Armenia)(Read more)

In conjunction with Epygi Labs in the United States, 60 DIDIO's are being installed in a project in Armenia. The project features both managed and unmanaged modes for the DIDIOs, allowing a central PC to monitor and take control of the lighting at any time, otherwise the DIDIOs accept triggers from pushbuttons and sensors and act on in-built timers. William McCormack Place (Cairns, Australia)(Read more)

86 x LIDA-F (8-channel relay output or 4-channel fan output) controllers were supplied to Clipsal for the green star rated William McCormack Place project in Cairns, Queensland. 
DIDIO 7001 controllers, LIDA v1.4 DALI AC CFL & relay controllers, SLAMMOs LED dimmers and an ADDICT-sys kit make up the rest of the Control Freak products in the installation. The new LIDA-F suits multi-speed DALI control of fans such as Hunter Pacific's Sycamore fan.

Darra Railway Station (Brisbane, Australia)(Read more)

Following successful installations of DIDIOs at Rockhampton and Bethania Railway Stations, the new Darra station continues the conversion of Queensland Rail platforms to energy saving lighing, with DIDIO for DALI control, including automatic 100hr burn-in and occupancy sensing.

Implementation of Remote Device Management (RDM)

An extension of the DMX512 protocol, devices that implement RDM allow for controllers to remotely control, configure and interrogate them using existing DMX512 connections. Various Creative Lighting products have already been upgraded to handle this new RDM protocol: (Read more)

• ADDICT - Basic configuration of RDM devices has been implemented into the latest version of the ADDICT (v1.08 + later).
• SLAMMO XC-1 - Using RDM, any options that required changing dipswitchs on the PCB can now be selected remotely, as well as additional advanced options.
• SLAMMO V3 - Using RDM, any options that required changing dipswitchs on the PCB can now be selected remotely, as well as additional advanced options

Creative's Control Freak range encompasses just about everything you need to minimise energy consumption from lighting, whether it's occupancy sensing, LED control and dimming, dimming of fluorescent and compact fluorescents, HID control or even fan control we make solutions for them all. Our products are installed in many green star projects from railway platforms and tunnels to commercial tenancies, retail, restaurants, signs, clubs and homes. We also supply OEMs with our control solutions including Clipsal, Sylvania and many more.
